PIVOT Silver Alginate Dressing is a fibrous, highly absorbent, all-natural biodegradable material derived from seaweed. It is highly absorbent and absorbs up to 20 times its weight. The dressing absorbs exudates and forms a gel-like covering over the wound, which maintains a moist environment for optimal wound healing. The gel-like surface also keeps the dressing from adhering to the wound, which makes dressing removal virtually painless. Metallic silver particles are added to the Calcium Alginate fibers that inhibit the growth of bacteria in the dressing.
